Leg 03 — Golden hour · the path

The certificate is real. So is the path.

The first flight$175One flight lesson with a Certified Flight Instructor, logged as instruction received. Training past it is billed lesson by lesson and quoted against a plan — and instructors here do not run the Hobbs on the ground, so briefings and debriefs are not billed as flight time.

  1. 01 · DISCDiscovery flight$175, flown with a Certified Flight Instructor. A few minutes after takeoff the controls pass to you, and the flight is logged as instruction received.
  2. 02 · SOLOFirst soloThe flight every pilot remembers. How soon it arrives is set by how often the flying happens — Part 61 training does not run on a class calendar.
  3. 03 · XCCross-countryReal trips to real airports. Rochester sits between the Seacoast and the lakes, and the Maine field adds the Saco river valley — navigation lessons here are worth the hour.
  4. 04 · CHKRDCheckrideThe FAA practical exam. Passing it matters, but it is not the finish line here — the goal is a pilot with real-world judgement afterwards.
